WHO SAYS REALITY TV AND PORN CAN’T MIX!
Here at SEXZINE we do lots of extensive “research” to bring you the latest lowdown…and boy have we found a real news worthy gem for you!
Search for a Star is a reality based TV series where aspiring porn stars battle it out for their chance at fame and fortune. And apparently this is it’s second season - how did we not hear about this earlier! It’s hosted by none other than Czech star Carla Cox who we actually had the pleasure of meeting earlier in the year during her visit to Australia.
What will they think of next…

SEX ROBOTS SET TO REVOLUTIONISE SEX TOURISM.

A recent article in the journal “Futures” claims that sex robots are the way of the future. They are predicting that robot prostitutes will be taking over their human competition in the sex trade market by the year 2050! They also estimate that sex tourists will be shelling out as much as 10,000 Euros for anything ranging from lap-dances to intercourse.

Some see this as a positive change, as sex robots will cut down on human trafficking, sex slavery, and the spread of sexual diseases. But, if this video is anything to go by, we think there is still a long way to go…(a very long way!)

What do you think, would you have sex with this thing?

FEMINIST PORN - WHAT IT IS AND WHY YOU WILL LOVE IT.

The name alone may sound extremely contradictory to some, but this new porn movement is gaining lots of popularity with men and women all over the world.

So, what exactly is it? The answer is that there are multiple definitions. Alison Lee, one of the key people behind the Feminist Porn Awards which are on from April 19-20, defines it as meeting at least one of these criteria:

1. A woman had a hand in the production, writing, direction, etc. of the work.

2. It depicts genuine female pleasure. (This is a key component in our view)

3. It expands the boundaries of sexual representation on film and challenges stereotypes that are often found in mainstream porn.

This means that with feminist porn you are more likely to see active desire and consent, real orgasms, and women taking control of their own fantasies (even when that fantasy is to hand over that control).

There’s absolutely no doubt that mainstream porn seems to have narrowed itself into a very predictable formula depicting highly unrealistic sex that warps our perceptions of what actual sex is like. How many young people watch porn to learn about sex only to be confronted with girls in screaming orgasms from the moment a penis comes in contact with them! Feminist porn not only challenges those stereotypes, but does in a very sexy way - check it out if you’re still sceptical!

We are big advocates here at SEXZINE, and we say it’s about time!

HONG KONG TO MAKE FIRST 4D PORN MOVIE.

Last year, ‘Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy’, the very first 3D pornographic film, “beat off” the Hollywood blockbuster Avatar as the highest 3D debut in Hong Kong on its opening day. Now, to push the boundaries even further, they plan to introduce vibrating chairs to enhance the experience and add a sense of ‘touch’ as the fourth dimension. (I am absolutely not making this up!) I just feel sorry for the poor cinema workers - they’ll be cleaning up more than dropped popcorn when the show is over.

TAKE A FEW STEPS BACK FROM YOUR SCREEN.

Tony Moriello’s piece “2 o’clock” encourages us to step away from our computer screens and re-interpret what we see. It is part of a new exhibition at the Museum of Sex called Universe of Desire that examines human desire as seen through the lens of digital behaviours:

“Type. Swipe. Search. Upload. Download. Post. Stream. These are the new verbs of desire. Our most intimate thoughts, fantasies, and urges are now transmitted via electronic devices to rapt audiences all over the world. These transmissions—from sexts to private webcam feeds—are anonymous yet personal, individual yet collective, everywhere and nowhere, and they are contributing to the largest sexual record to date. In short, desire has gone viral.”

As human behavior becomes more clickable than physical, we can’t help but wonder what this means for our most basic, biological impulse: sex.

Remember when porn used to look like this? Me either, but it definitely had a certain class about it.

THE RETURN OF THE EROTIC NOVEL AKA ‘MOMMY PORN”

All the buzz at the moment seems to be surrounding a cheeky little book by author E.L James. “50 Shades of Grey” has been described as ‘twilight for adults’ and ‘mommy porn’, and has become a bestseller without any sort of advertising or promotion from the publisher. It’s gone viral, spreading like a wildfire through word of mouth and re-introducing a genre that was typically stereotyped as dead. As one fan stated, “It’s taboo for women to admit that they watch pornography, but for some reason it’s O.K. to admit that they’re reading this book.”

With it’s recent explosion of popularity publishers are expecting it to be right up there with the likes of ‘The da Vinci code’ and Eat, Pray, Love’. We’re just disappointed they went for a ‘modern’ cover and not something like this:
